Hi, My name is Meredith and I want to share my story.
On January 14th 2021, I gave birth to EIGHT beautiful, Guardians of the Galaxy on a cold shelter floor in Kentucky. Pets Alive WNY agreed to help us.
We named the babies Rocket, Carina, Irani, Nebula, Gamora, Mantis, Drax and last but not least, GROOT.
The loving volunteers at Pets Alive WNY took amazing care of my babies and I for 8 weeks until they were old enough to go to their forever homes.
A month after my babies went home 7 out of 8 of them were thriving and growing.
Groot's new parents knew something wasn't right. He took a turn for the worse.
Baby Groot started to have seizures, he was not eating well and acting very lethargic.
Something was so wrong with Groot. After we saw Groot's condition we knew he had to be seen by a Veterinarian.
The emergency vet ran all sorts of tests on my boy, to rule out all the common problems a puppy may experience. These tests were all so expensive.
He stayed overnight several days on several occasions, also VERY expensive.
We found out Groot has a liver shunt. Due to where this shunt is, no one local could fix Groot.
On 7/14/21 Groot (now Bowie) headed to Cornell Vet for additional testing and for what we thought would be surgery. The testing told us he needs a specialize device that has to be a specific size. The device has to be specially ordered and is quite expensive.
We need your help to make sure Groot lives a long healthy life!
He has a full life left to live with this device, can you help by making a donation today?
