Rainies Foster Closet Inc

Sisters Jessica Dybdahl (President) and Alicia Moeller (Vice President) founded Rainie’s Foster Closet in September 2019 following their personal foster care experience! This is their (and Rainie’s) story. . .

In June 2018, Alicia (having no children of her own) made the decision to pursue foster parenting with intent to adopt. February 2019, Alicia received a request from her agency for immediate placement of two sisters Ages 2 & 7. Like most foster parents placing children in emergency situations, Alicia had literally no time to gather clothing & supplies before the girls arrived ‘home’. While they managed with the help of Alicia’s family & friends, the experience identified a community need. Alicia & her sister Jessica have been on a mission since with the creation of Rainies Foster Closet Inc. in September 2019!

Rainie’s Foster Closet supplies children’s and young adult clothing, essentials, and gear FREE to eligible Foster/Kinship families. We are a 100% volunteer, donation-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing aid to our Foster/Kinship communities. Our operations are wholly dependent upon community donations (durable goods and financial) as well as grants and fundraising projects. Our mission is simple yet vital: to provide immediate and recurring support to Foster/Kinship children in need while living out our belief that all children should experience love, respect, and kindness in their homes and from their community -- “It Takes a Village…”

Thanks to the generosity and support of so many, Rainie’s Foster Closet successfully moved into a larger location on September 30, 2025. This new home enables us to serve more children with dignity and care:

1. 7 days of clothing, diapers, socks, underwear, and personal care items per child, 4x/year
2. Footwear 4x/year
3. 2 big items annually (as available): car seats, strollers, youth beds, changing tables, highchairs, dressers, etc.

With this bigger impact comes a bigger operational responsibility: RENT! To keep our doors open year after year, we must raise funds to cover this ongoing expense. Your ‘Give 716’ donation now helps us RAISE THE RENT, ensuring Rainie’s Closet remains a safe, reliable resource for Foster/Kinship families. Every dollar directly supports keeping this space available, stocked, and welcoming for children who need it most.
