The vision for Sloan Comfort Care Home began in 2015, when a small group of compassionate individuals recognized a critical gap in end-of-life care in Erie County. Inspired by Comfort Care Homes across the country, they set out to create a place where people facing terminal illness could receive free, dignified, and loving care in a peaceful, home-like setting.

In 2019, their vision became reality — Sloan Comfort Care Home opened its doors as the first Comfort Care Home in Erie County. Since then, we’ve had the honor of caring for over 100 guests and their loved ones, offering comfort and compassion during one of life’s most vulnerable moments.

We work hand-in-hand with hospice, focusing on easing the burden of caregiving so families can spend meaningful, uninterrupted time together.

At Sloan Comfort Care Home, we provide 24-hour compassionate end-of-life care in a peaceful, home-like setting — the only Comfort Care Home of its kind in Erie County.

Since opening our doors in 2020, we’ve supported over 100 guests and their loved ones, offering comfort, dignity, and peace during life’s final journey.

Here, no family ever receives a bill for our services. Our care is provided at no cost to our guests or their families, thanks to the generosity of people like you. We operate on a pay-it-forward model — today’s donations help care for tomorrow’s guests, ensuring this vital service continues for all who need it.
