Explore & More - The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children's Museum has been Buffalo's beacon for child-centered discovery since 1994. Founded on the belief that play is the language of childhood, the museum transformed how families in Western New York approach learning and growth. Explore & More has been named America's #5 Children's Museum by USA Today and has also earned local awards including Best Programming for Kids by Buffalo Spree Magazine and the Best Destination for a Child's Birthday by Best of 716.
What began as a passionate commitment to children's education blossomed into a thriving community institution. In 2019, the museum relocated to a stunning four-story home at Canalside, creating an immersive space where young minds explore exhibits celebrating Buffalo's rich heritage and regional pride. Three dynamic floors invite children to touch, build, question, and imagine - turning curiosity into understanding.
Beyond exhibits, Explore & More extends its reach through year-round programming: enriching camps and classes, sensory-friendly events for children with diverse needs, professional development for educators, and spaces where families gather to celebrate milestones. The museum recognizes that every child deserves access to quality educational experiences.
Explore & More is 95% self-funded. That means we rely on sponsorships, ticket sales, and contributions from individuals like you to survive. While we are grateful for the support we do receive from Erie County and New York State, we need your help now more than ever to provide a fun and affordable experience for families in Western New York!
