Friends Inc. @ Dorothy J Collier Community Center focuses on healthy community socialization.
Dorothy J. Collier founded Friends Inc. in the late 1980s as Friends to the Elderly after working for several community groups to fill the gaps in services experienced by the community's elderly residents. Mrs. Collier led the organization as the Executive Director until her passing in 2010.
As a testament to Mrs. Collier's work and contributions to the Western New York community, the city of Buffalo named the former PAL the Dorothy J. Collier Community Center (DJCCC) in her honor. We are located at 118 E Utica St in the heart of Buffalo, NY.
Friends Inc @ Dorothy J Collier Community Center strives daily to carry on the legacy of Mrs. Collier. Carrying on that legacy means serving the youth, the elderly and everyone in between to the best of our ability! Our desire is to see our community thrive and and live in continual health and all around prosperity.
Our mission is to provide quality services that educate, encourage, empower and support healthy, happy community members and a safe, stable and supportive community.
