Saving one Paw at a Time
SPCA of Wyoming County has had a very busy year. We have found over 220 dogs and cats a loving home in 2023. We are a small rural shelter located in Attica, NY. We do not receive any assistance from the county or state, so we rely solely on donations from the community to help us to continue to save animals lives. With your gift more animals will be able to be rescued and get a second chance at life, just like Faith, read her story below: Faith came to us through the kindness of a man who found her lying in the middle of a busy street. She was a sad and horrible sight to see. She was starving and dehydrated. Her coat was matted over her entire body and her face was so infected it was difficult to know if she had eyes. We rushed her to the vet where she stayed for a week. They cleaned her up, fed her food and fluids, and started medication for infection. She started to come back to life! The next stop was for eye care where we were told one eye was ruptured and she needed drops every hour, 24 hours a day for weeks. Thankfully, our formidable volunteer Sher took her home to give her the best chance in life. Faith amazingly healed and she can see. She will soon be ready for her forever home! We also had 5 spay/neuter clinics at our shelter in 2023. This helped out community with a cheaper way to get their animals spay/neuter. We are having them monthly for 2024 as well. We received a grant from Bailey & Friends to build a surgical station at our shelter, which we will use to help the community with spay/neuters. Also, our future plans are deal with our drainage problem. Our basement always floods, and our dog yard is always muddy and wet. To fix these problems, we will be seeking out other grant(s) and/or donations from the community to assist in this capital project. Please Donate today and help us enrich and save animals lives.
The Mission of SPCA serving Wyoming County is to Drive Change in Our Community Through Innovative Programs that Promote Adoption, Spay/Neuter and Education.
