Strengthen our children at every stage of life.
Christopher Thomas Maloney was born April 1, 1993. His true passion was to the sport of Golf; encompassing the traditions, individual commitment, honesty and ethics, required perseverance, and social aspects. Chris harnessed these facets to help battle the disease of addiction which ultimately took his life on June 19, 2016.
The Chris Maloney Legacy Foundation is a registered 501c3 charitable organization. Sustainability will allow the organization to direct funds and support to a variety of programs that look to prevent addiction in unique and helpful ways. Finding avenues to strengthen character in our youth, providing for stronger and longer lasting support systems within our communities, and creating effective and truthful education are current focus points.
Our community, through us, have already funded educational and support programs in Niagara County, Horizon Health Services, and Kids Escaping Drugs! Find out more about our foundation partnerships and what we're doing.
The mission of the Chris Maloney Legacy Foundation is to raise awareness of the growing issues surrounding addiction. Addiction is a primary, chronic disease of brain reward, motivation, memory and related circuitry. Assisting in the prevention of addiction is our long term target, along the way we hope to support in the treatment of this disease as well. The short term goal is to celebrate a beautiful life lost to this disease. These initial event funds will build the base for long term efforts to serve our community on a perpetual basis. Subsequent golf tournaments and various other events will further support our mission.
Our programs fund the following:
- Core Value Golf Programs with The First Tee of Western NY
- Core Value Golf Program at Kids Escaping Drugs
- A therapy dog program at Horizon Health Services
- Core Value Golf Program at Horizon Health Services
There are a lot more programs and ideas our foundation and members are passionate about, and Give716, as well as our July Golf Tournament, are our funding avenues to continue to fulfill our commitment to the children and families of Western New York in the name of Christopher Maloney.
