The Buffalo City Mission exists to restore hope and dignity to the hurting and homeless through the transforming grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.
The Buffalo City Mission offers comprehensive programs that serve homeless individuals and mothers with children in crisis. From emergency shelter, hot meals, and clothing to preventative care and long-term recovery services, we meet both immediate and lasting needs, helping people move from crisis to stability with dignity and compassion.
At the Buffalo City Mission, we exist to restore hope and transform lives, because every person matters.
Each day, we open our doors to the homeless and hurting across Western New York offering emergency shelter, warm meals, and compassionate care to men, women, and mothers with children who have nowhere else to turn. But we know that meeting someone’s immediate needs is only the first step toward lasting change.
Through our men's and community outreach shelter, the Alfiero Center of Hope and Promise, and our dedicated women and children’s shelter, Cornerstone Manor, we provide more than just shelter, we offer a path forward. Our long-term recovery and empowerment programs are designed to help individuals heal, rebuild, and rediscover purpose, stability, and dignity.
As the face of homelessness shifts and deepens in complexity, our commitment only grows stronger. We believe that Jesus calls us to respond not with judgment, but with love. To meet people where they are, with open arms, with compassion, and with dignity. With Christ at the very heart of our Mission, we are pressing forward: expanding services, building innovative programs, and proclaiming the life-changing power of the Gospel.
At the Buffalo City Mission, we care for the whole person; spirit, body, and soul. And in doing so, we bring hope where it’s needed most.
