Bringing Charity to Life
The Western New York (WNY) chapter was established in 1847 and incorporated in 1922, making it the second oldest chapter in the United States. Today the WNY chapter is the oldest continually operating charity in Western New York. It is an independent 501(c)3 organization with 800 volunteer members providing services and support to the poor throughout the community. SVDP served more than 160,000 low-income individuals in Western New York in the last fiscal year through our Dining Room program, Discount Store, and voucher program. SVDP serves people throughout Western New York regardless of faith and relies upon donations from individuals to provide its critical service.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is a world-wide organization, founded in 1833, whose mission is to seek out the forgotten, the suffering, and the deprived, and to treat them with dignity and compassion.
