JCLC Jamestown Community Learning Council

Since 1990, our belief has been "Parents are the first and most important teachers." Every parent wants their child to grow up and become a happy, productive, and successful adult and we are here to support not only the child but the family as well. How do we do that? Using the nationally-known and evidence-based Parents as Teachers curriculum, our home visitation program is designed to advance parents' knowledge and interaction with their children's development and educational needs as well as to promote positive home/school relationships. And not only do we provide monthly home visits, we hold family fun events and opportunities for families to come together to get to know one another.

What started out as a grassroots organization, we are proud to say, has grown and expanded from our work in solely the Jamestown School District to now 9 school districts throughout Chautauqua County, and to also include our newest program, Healthy Families Chautauqua. We also partner with many other agencies so that we may provide support to those in need. Together we can make a difference!

Our mission is clear, to strengthen the capacity of families to nurture, support and provide for their child's academic development, emotional growth and physical well-being by establishing effective relationships between home and school.
