The G.O.A.T. farm…where animals and people heal together! #Carefarm
Open Farms ('Let's Goat Rescue Inc.') is a non-profit care farm and goat sanctuary and a sister program of Let's Goat Buffalo, a local goat-grazing company. In response to the needs of vulnerable animals and people in our community, Open Farms was founded to care for at-risk goats and farm animals while also allowing people to find healing through farming... together!!
By bringing together people from various walks of life, we break down social barriers and cultivate a sense of mutual understanding and support. We focus on providing supports for people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or mental health conditions, but our co-farmers join us from all walks of life! Together we engage in meaningful activity through farming- building relationships that enrich our entire community.
Open Farms is a completely volunteer run non-profit and we NEED YOUR HELP. Your donations will help us continue to provide a safe and nurturing environment for animals in need of their second chance, as well as support therapeutic programs for vulnerable members of our community. The farm has come to life through the dedication and passion of so many. Friends, family, neighbors, environmentalists, mental health advocates, disability-rights activists, our dedicated Board of Directors, and countless others have helped build a place where everyone is included and encouraged to contribute. Open Farms isn’t just a farm; it’s a growing community that believes in healing through connection with nature, with animals, and with each other.
At Open Farms, (Let's Goat Rescue, Inc.,) We offer meaningful opportunities for our community to heal, grow, and thrive by fostering a deeper connection to animals, farming, and the land.
Open Farms was born from a shared desire for a place where anyone, regardless of ability or background, can experience the peace, balance, and joy that come from being close to the land and animals.
Care Farming is the practice of using farm and nature-based activities as a way to support people's mental, physical, and emotional well-being. By engaging in meaningful tasks like caring for animals, tending gardens, or working the land, individuals find a sense of purpose and connection. This is especially impactful for those facing challenges like disabilities, mental health issues, or social isolation.
