Since our rescue started in November 2018 we’ve rescued over 2,300 in 3.5 short years. We’ve grown to one of the largest all-breed dog rescues in Western New York.

We are a 50l(c)(3) organization focused on the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs in need. Our volunteers work tirelessly to save these dogs from the terrible fate of euthanization due to overcrowding at shelters across the nation, and we have no intention of slowing down!

At Nickel City Canine Rescue, the heart of our work is to rescue displaced and unwanted animals at risk of euthanasia. We commit to providing them with stable care, basic needs, and the kind of love that makes their tails wag again. Our mission is also to reduce the unwanted pet population by spaying and neutering every dog that comes through our rescue. We rescue both healthy and medically needy dogs from puppies to seniors. Here at NCCR, we regularly open our homes to pregnant dogs in need of a safe space to deliver their puppies. We've also taken on medical cases from broken bones, amputation, eye surgeries, masses, skin conditions, and beyond. Our dogs come from multiple shelters in southern states as well as local owner surrenders and local shelters. Our goal is to match dogs in need to loving, safe, forever homes.
