Funds raised through the 2023 Holiday Raffle will support initiatives that ease breast cancer journeys for WNY patients.
Funds raised through the 2023 Holiday Raffle will support initiatives that ease breast cancer journeys for WNY patients including pre-breast surgery education, comfort blankets and restorative health classes for patients and survivors.
Bi-monthly Breast Surgery Information Programs are offered through a partnership with Buffalo Therapy Services at Windsong's Williamsville location. It is open to all patients scheduled for breast cancer surgery regardless of provider.
Patients scheduled for surgeries, ranging from lumpectomies to double mastectomies, learn what to expect and how to manage before, during and after surgery. For many, there are difficult journeys ahead balancing treatment, families, jobs, homes and finances. Patient worry can be very profound. Our program helps ease anxiety and addresses concerns
Through our new Comfort Blanket Program, each breast cancer patient will now leave the Breast Surgery Information Program with a fleece blanket as a reminder of our support and best hopes for her. It will also provide needed warmth and comfort during continued treatment.
For breast cancer patients and those in recovery, Restorative Health Classes help address stress, reduce fatigue, decrease the risk of recurrence, build strength and better the quality of life. The Windsong Cares Foundation provides ongoing support for such classes that include yoga, pilates and reiki at the Breast Cancer Network of WNY at the United Way in Buffalo.
