WNY Homes For The Holidays Inc

WNY Homes for the Holidays Inc was started in 2017, with the intentions of being a wedding charity project, but we quickly realized that the need was greater than even we could imagine!

We are a 100% volunteer based organization who primarily provides gift bags for residents living in long term care facilities. These residents are hand chosen by their social workers as they typically do not have family, do not get visitors throughout the year, and may also be financially burdened. Each reusable bag is filled with toiletries, pajamas, slippers, puzzle books, essentials and personalized gifts. We hand deliver each bag and visit with each recipient - the most important part in our opinion. We want every resident to know they are not forgotten, especially during the holidays. We now deliver bags for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day & Easter. In 2024 we delivered almost 750 bags to 23 different facilities across Western New York. Every year we strive to reach more homes, and include more residents in our visits

**2025 Update!**

Due to the overwhelming requests over the past few years, we have expanded our reach and now serve other non-typical homes such as sober living houses & women's safe houses on a smaller scale. We provide these homes with clothing, sheets, basic household items, and toiletries.

Based on request, we can provide seniors with PET ITEMS such as food, litter, collars, toys etc. to ensure EVERYONE in the household is well cared for.

Last but not least! We now have 3 "Essentials Boxes" in the community that we own and sponsor every month. These boxes work like a free pantry, but instead contain toiletries, small household items, OTC medications, and other items to support those who may be on a fixed income or financially burdened. They are currently located in Holland & the East and West sides of Buffalo. We will be adding additional boxes throughout the year.
