Prepared. For Life.
We serve over 1,300 Scouts throughout Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany counties in New York, and McKean and Potter counties in Pennsylvania. Scouting contributes significantly to the development of young people by teaching important life skills and encouraging personal growth. Through a variety of activities, Scouts learn problem-solving, critical thinking, and leadership skills that are useful in many aspects of life. The supportive and adventurous setting of Scouting helps young people build resilience and confidence in facing challenges. Additionally, by working in teams, Scouts improve their ability to collaborate and form strong, lasting relationships.
Scouting also encourages a sense of community and responsibility. Participation in community service projects helps Scouts develop empathy and social awareness, highlighting the importance of contributing to society. Moreover, Scouting fosters environmental awareness, teaching young people to respect and care for the natural world. By promoting values like integrity, respect, and duty, Scouting helps shape individuals who are prepared to make positive contributions to their communities.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law
