Lockport Ice Arena And Sports Center Inc (aka Cornerstone)

Lockport Ice Arena and Sports Center, Inc. is the nonprofit owner/operator of Cornerstone CFCU Arena, located in the City of Lockport. Located in Niagara County about 20 minutes from Buffalo, our facility is centered in a low-income community, with a census tract poverty rate of 29.67%. Our facility has become a community center within the city providing recreational experiences for everyone from ages 3-103.

When our building was constructed nearly 10 years ago, all of our support equipment was purchased in used condition, including scoreboards for both of our arenas and our Zamboni ice resurfacers. Since inception, we have replaced both Zambonis (one new used and the other a brand new unit in August of 2023 for $150,000. Majority of the funds were from donations and fundraising events.

We are now in need of a new scoreboard. The current one has technology that is now obsolete, and we struggle to source parts for repairs. Without a working scoreboard, we are unable to host many of the sporting games that support our mission.

We have secured $10,000 through a Niagara County Youth Bureau grant towards the replacement equipment. We need $8,000 more to fully fund the project. This project must be completed by 9/30/2024 in order to qualify for the county reimbursement.

Located in Lockport, NY, Lockport Ice Arena And Sports Center Inc., also known as Cornerstone, is dedicated to uplifting and enriching the community. Our state-of-the-art ice arenas and sports facilities were made possible with the support of the community. Since inception, we have been servicing our ice surfaces using used or new used Zamboni models.

6. Build and Maintain Recreational Facilities to encourage an active and healthy lifestyle among community members.
7. Promote Lacrosse and provide resources to grow the sport, providing opportunities for a growing community of enthusiasts.
