Restoring an architectural gem to bring entertainment and educational opportunities in live theater and performance art to all!
It's called Niagara 'Post' Theater because theaters located on military bases were referred to as "post" theaters (there are only 5 left across the United States). The Niagara Post Theater was last occupied in the 1960s, but it is in excellent condition.
Constructed in 1931, the building offers excellent acoustics and the opportunity of historical preservation and the celebration of art, heritage and community!
This depression era, Art Deco/Victorian fusion theater will be re-engineered with modern facilities to support live theater productions and instruction in the performing arts. It will also offer badly needed space for films, concerts, recitals, festivals and event rental space. These offerings will create a revenue stream to fund routine operating costs while allowing us to continue to expand our programming! https://youtu.be/pAFsDG4dmTI
To fulfill the Niagara Post Theater Inc.'s non-profit mission of bringing entertainment and educational opportunities in live theater and performance art to all, we are raising funds to refurbish and operate the theater. When we open - the theater will be catalytic to revitalizing other historic neighboring Fort Niagara State Park buildings that will be a destination for ART, HERITAGE and ECOTOURISM.
The effort is being funded via donations, grants, foundations, patrons, and donors like you!
Thank you for taking the time to consider our project on this epic day of giving!
