Harrison's Playmakers

Playmakers enhance the lives of all kids and families through inclusive sports, community service, and life-long relationships.

 Founded in 2009, The Playmakers began as a summer football camp integrating football skills and character lessons. Playmakers then evolved to provide after-school and summer reading programs for at-risk youth, and an annual Summer Football Academy for regional high schools.

The Playmakers touched the lives of more than 2,000 students and athletes. Now, our vision for the future is to expand and affect even more kids on a national level. By partnering with community leaders and agencies, we can spread The Playmakers curriculum on a national scale. We can reduce bullying and give youth tools to overcome their challenges.

 Harrison’s Playmakers promotes social inclusion and kindness–like the act of paying it forward–with year-round programs and activities for our “Playmaker Pups,” giving kids with developmental differences and special needs the opportunity to play sports, be on teams, and share experiences they would likely not otherwise have. We coach kids to celebrate others’ successes, that it’s okay to fail and get back up. We help them find courage, make new friends, be part of a team, increase their physical fitness, feel the joy and spirit of healthy competition, and so much more. We want all kids to learn, to practice, and to know that regardless of your different abilities, you can always find a way to help others. And that’s what being a Playmaker is all about.

At Harrison’s Playmakers, we envision a world where every child, regardless of social, physical, or economic challenges, is empowered to overcome obstacles and thrive. Our vision is to create a community of resilient, confident, and compassionate individuals who embody the values of social inclusion, physical fitness, healthy living, self-worth, and respect for others. Through mentorship, we aim to instill pride in oneself and one's community, fostering an understanding that celebrating others' successes and embracing failure as a part of growth are essential components of a fulfilling life.

We are dedicated to serving young people from diverse backgrounds, including those with developmental differences, individuals at risk of being lost in the system, those facing difficult circumstances, and other special needs.
