Preservation Buffalo Niagara

Thank you for your interest in Preservation Buffalo Niagara! It is hard to imagine the 716 without our world class architecture and walkable historic neighborhoods. It is important to highlight that PBN has had a huge role over the decades in helping to advocate, save and restore many of the places we love!

Our roots go way back to the beginning of the Preservation movement. Our founders, donors, former staff and members were active in so many projects including stopping the wrecking ball from hitting Shea’s, fighting against and stopping the highway through Allentown, setting up the Allentown Historic District, advocating for Trico, Guaranty, Central Terminal, Darwin Martin House, Hamlin Park, and so many others.

In recent years, we helped to set up multiple preservation districts including Broadway - Fillmore Historic District and the Main Street Historic District in Niagara Falls, NY. Today have our local landmarking efforts for churches, we are saving and restoring buildings of our own, operate a revolving loan fund for building owners to repair their homes, have several active stabilization projects happening, a monthly tax credit training and so much more. It is us that goes to Albany and Washington DC to advocate for keeping and / or expanding the historic tax credit program that has brought over a billion dollars to WNY!
