CBA Vision Rehabilitation Services, also known as the Chautauqua Blind Association, is a non-profit organization that has been serving visually impaired individuals in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties for over a century. CBA clients range from toddlers to seniors, and many of them attend school, work, and actively participate in their communities.
CBA offers in-home Vision Rehabilitation, Orientation and Mobility Training, Vocational Rehabilitation, Braille services, and social casework services to individuals who are legally blind.
CBA also offers a Youth Vision Screening program that provides vision screenings for pre-k through 1st-grade students across both Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties. During the 2024-2025 school year, CBA staff conducted vision screenings for over 5,200 children, resulting in more than 700 referrals for eye exams and glasses. This program aims to identify vision abnormalities or conditions in young children, giving them a better chance to succeed in their education and possibly prevent vision loss if undiagnosed.
Every donation to our organization helps support our programs. Each contribution provides vision screenings for children in need and advances our rehabilitation programs for the legally blind, where they are most needed.
CBA Mission: To enable people with visual impairments to be active members of their community, to provide education regarding vision loss, and to raise awareness of the importance of early vision screening for a lifetime of healthy vision
