Suzy is large, older dog (Husky) of a beloved couple who recently became unhoused in Buffalo, NY. During the search for a new apartment that would allow Suzy, the Buffalo Team of the Street Dog Coalition paid for Suzy's veterinary care and emergency boarding for 6 weeks. Thankfully, the couple found housing that would accept Suzy. They picked up Suzy from the boarding kennel and a jubilant reunion was shared by all!
In the past year, the Buffalo Team of The Street Dog Coalition has provided assistance in several other similar situations. The Buffalo Team has also paid reclaim fees at local dog control agencies when people cannot afford the fee to get their dog back after dog was separated from them.
Our volunteers' hard work keeps pets with their people and out of overworked local animal shelters and rescue organizations. These animals already have loving homes and do not need to occupy a kennel in an animal shelter. Such space should be reserved for animals who have no other place to go.
We would greatly appreciate your support for our incredibly valuable mission! Let's keep pets and people together, caring for each other and thriving. Thank you!
The Buffalo Team of The Street Dog Coalition (national not for profit organization) is committed to protecting the human-animal bond and caring for the pet and the person. We provide assistance on a case-by-case basis to people who are unhoused or at risk of being unhoused. With a ‘One Health’ approach, The Street Dog Coalition cares for lives on both ends of the leash.
We provide financial assistance for dogs and cats so they can receive much needed veterinary care, such as treatment for parvovirus in puppies, radiographs and treatment for painful arthritis, and emergency care for toxin exposure. Doing this keeps animals with their people, regardless of their housing situation, instead of being surrendered to overworked animal shelters and rescue organizations.

What The Street Dog Coalition Values:
> Unconditional Love: Everything we do is done with love and kindness, without judgment or conditions.
> Compassionate Activism: We seek the courage to “swim upstream” and always do the right thing.
> Unbridled Collaboration: Our work cannot be done in a silo. We rely on supporters and community partners to help us think outside the box, complement existing resources, establish trust, walk-the-talk, and deliver accessible, quality care through tailored delivery models.
> Trust: Trust is the foundation of this organization. We strive to authentically connect and build trust with everyone we work with and everyone we meet, on both ends of the leash.
If you would like to support this mission, please consider making a donation to the Buffalo Team of The Street Dog Coalition. We, as well as the animals and people who are provided care, will greatly appreciate your generosity!
